KI1G in Guam

Our very own Rick Davenport has landed in Guam. It’s already tomorrow there. Depending on his workload, he plans to get on the air from someplace while he is there. Here is latest info from him just received. I’ll post new information here as I get it.

Arrived safe and sound, temp in middle 80’s with tropical humidity.

I finally got in touch with N2NL, I am planning on going to see him either Saturday or Sunday Guam time so Friday or Saturday here. I will try to give you more notice once I get settled in out there.

  1. Hi Rick, maybe you can give us some stock prices or lottery numbers so we can make some financial decisions here for tomorrow. In any event I hope you can get on the air and set some new records from the Pacific!
    Stay safe, cool and dry!

  2. Hello to those of yesterday, I spoke with Dave (KH2/N2NL) and have made plans to go over to his QTH and operate for a while on Sunday morning Guam time. This will work out to Saturday afternoon/evening CTRI time. Not sure on bands or modes yet but U plan to avoid the SS SSB mayhem. Hope to hear some CTRI callsigns.

  3. Rick is on the air NOW (Saturday 2205Z) on 10 meter CW 28020. Big signal (S9 to 10 over 9). I worked him pretty easily and a few minutes after I worked him, I heard him call Jim, KS1J.

    Go get him !!!

  4. Hi all, nice to hear the CTRI activity from out here. Worked W1WBB, K3IU, KS1J & K6ND in about a 15 minute span and 10 meters closed shortly thereafter. Glad I was able to at least catch the end of the opening. Dave has a nice setup out here, he showed me the hotel where the JA ops run AH2R from when they are in town. It was nice of him to give up part of his Sunday to play tour guide and to let me get on the air from out here. He has a good website with Guam history and what he has been up to out here if anyone is interested http://www.N2NL.Net.
