  1. Is it true that IK = EK / RK where IK is Current Keeper and EK is Ken’s Effort and RK is Ken’s Results?

  2. Did anybody work 9A203BIM in the RU this weekend? Sure seems like an odd call, but he was all over the place running, S&Ping and whatever else. Do you think he was legit?

    Thanks.

    KA1GEU, Chris

  3. Chris,
I never heard that call sign, but then I was only on for about 4 hours on Saturday afternoon. Mike, K1DM

  4. Chris,

I worked 9A203BIM and also heard another 9A2hundredsomething. You can check it out on qrz.com. It’s a special prefix.

  5. Guys, I would have liked to spend more time in this one, but had a few visitors this weekend. Fortunately Murphy was not one of them. I worked several club members in the skip zone on 15 and 20 so the signals were not that strong. KA1GEU, K3IU, NG1G, W1PN, KI1G, and W1BYH were among them. I operated with the K3 and amp at about 500W high power. There were plenty of stations to work and I had some good runs on both 40 and 20M. Total time in was 12-14 hours. My score was about the same as last year but a few thousand less than 2010.

  6. It’s called Kohm’s Law and is currently in effect using only nominal values of R, E and I.

  7. Hi, guys. Only about 11 hours here according to the Logger program. I worked KI1G, NG1G, W1AN. Bands didn’t seem to be as busy as I had expected.

    See y’all on Saturday.

  8. Hello all, RTTY Roundup results: 202 QSO’s and 14,500 points. Enjoyable contest.

  9. Way to go, John. Good effort! Is this your first RTTY contest??? Keep up the good work.

  10. I stopped at about the 21 hour mark, as I had school work to do, and anyway I realized I was not going to make my goal of 100K points. I would have come close though. I also came within ONE STATE of working them all – I missed DC this year. With conditions being supposedly so much better than last year I would have thought the bands (especially 10M) would have had more activity than they did. Best QSOs was when ZL3TE and D2QMN called me on 15M. I heard some JAs but never worked any.

Worked KI1G on all but one band (20M), K3IU, W1AN, K1JSM, KO1H(!), and W1PN. Good to hear K1JSM and W1PN working from home!

  11. What a great time the 2012 RTTY RU was. I ran into a couple of hardware issues, things that should have been checked out before the contest were found during the contest.

Nice to hear all of the CTRI activity…NG1G,K3IU,KA1GEU,W1PN,W1BYH,K1JSM,W1AN,N1NK sorry if I missed anyone

10 meters was a disappointment, it seemed open but there was little activity.
Maybe by 2013 we should have enough solar zoomies to get it cranking again.

Lots of good DX this weekend, thanks for all of the QSO’s. Congrats to K4GMH and AA3B on great scores and after 24 hours the difference between them was less than 2 QSO’s worth of points.

See you all again next year.

  12. Although I got off to a slow start (too nice a day to stay inside) things picked up Saturday evening and Sunday was pretty good. I tried a few runs, but none were very productive until the last 45 minutes of the RU on 40m. Non-stop calls. Pretty cool. But S&P with the Flex Panadaptor was a blast. Just click between the tones on the waterfall, and I didn’t even need AFC on MMTTY. It tuned perfect every time (after an hour or so of practice). The new 20m loop seems to work pretty well. Although I got rid of the RFI on 75m with the 75m dipole, things aren’t so great on the low end of 80. I had to disconnect the smoke alarm due to the constant beeping when I transmitted. Although 15m on the 40m dipole seems to get out OK, GFCIs in the house don’t like it. But who cares. Just reset them when you need them. The amp put out a pretty solid 500 to 600W on 80 thru 15, but 10 was barefoot. 10 didn’t seem too poular anyway. I’m glad John, K1JSM got things working. Sorry we didn’t meet up during the RU. I worked KI1G and W1AN from the club and.probably others. Although I filed in the assisted category (which I guess makes me a HP, multi-op) I think I only used it once. The Freqs on the spots never matched up. Next year will be an unsassisted year. 14.5 hrs according to N1MM.

  13. Guys, great to see all the activity from the CTRI group. That will sure add up to a nice club score. And an awesome score from Rick. I bet he could sell seats just for the thrill to watch him work SO2R and the Qs! Nice job Rick. The next big RTTY test comes up next month and we have a US record to defend!

See you at the meeting Saturday!
    John, W1AN

  14. I started off with the hopes of making the 100K qso numbers, but didn’t quite make it !! Was kind of under the weather all weekend and was only able to stay on for about 17 hours – less than the 23 I spent last year. Seems as though conditions were not as good as recent weeks here, and still playing with some of the antennas damaged in the early October snowstorm here.Ran about 95% S&P as I just couldn’t seem to find a spot to run on most bands. Not good in this contest !! Did manage 600 Q’s and 103 multi’s for a final score of 61,800 SOAB low power. Still had a good time and pleased to add a few points to the club total. Nice to work some of the other club members.
