Believe it or not, I, a ham who is not a CW operator, received today a certificate for 1st place in the 2011 ARRL DX CW contest, Single-op, Assisted, Low Power, RI. There were two entries from RI. Apparently I had a 50/50 chance!
They’ll give these certificates to just about anybody, won’t they?

Pat, It’s a nice acknowledgement for the effort you put in. The club also received a certificate for the W1DX Multi-Single Transmitter category for the same contest.(W1AN, WE1H, W1WBB, K1DM) We were in the top 10 in the USA. Number 10. Hi! We will get better!
John, W1AN
That’s great! I was #8 of 20 in New England, right behind Jack, K2RS. I’ll take middle of the pack.
Pat
Pat,
Congrats! You really know how to pick your category. Now we just have to boost your confidence. Practice, practice, practice, practice practice, practice. The six p’s for success.
Mike, K1DM
#10 of the top ten ain’t bad.
You hit the nail right on the head, Mike. I need to practice but right now I just don’t seem to have the willingness to put in the time. I will at some point.
Pat, NG1G
Pat: I say ix-nay on practice with apologies to K1DM. Next step: Call CQ. You can do it. Out!
