The preliminary 2011 Phone Sweepstakes Results are now posted on the ARRL website. Kudos to Bill, W1WBB, who is the New England Division winner for Single Op Unlimited Low Power!! Nice going! Rhode Island shows up as one the rarest ARRL sections to work. 73!

And not only that, but Bill is in the top ten, that’s *The Top Ten*, in the SOLP, Unlimited category! Congratulations, Bill!!

Thanks to John W1XX for the heads-up that ARRL Sweepstakes Phone initial results are now online…they can be found here: http://www.arrl.org/files/file/ContestResults/2011/2011-SSPH-InitialResults-V2.pdf
In ARRL’s Affiliated Club Competition for the 2011 Sweepstakes (CW and SSB scores combined) our club achieved the highest score (810,768 pts) among clubs submitting ten or fewer entries in the very competitive Medium-size Club category…contributors included KA1GEU, KI1G, K3IU, W1AN, W1BYH, W1WBB and W1XX — well done all.
I can certainly say that operations from the rare section of RI in Sweepstakes doesn’t hurt one’s overall score! For me, I am most pleased that after making my goal of the “Sweep” of all 80 sections in both modes, the confirmation of all sections *survived the log-checking process*!
Sweeping all sections will be a bit more challenging for 2012 as it was recently announced that Canada’s Ontario section is being divided up into 4 new areas.
