Big multi-mode HF contest of the summer is this weekend 1200z 14 Jul – 1200z 15 Jul (just 24 hrs) as Pat NG1G mentioned in an earlier post. Simple exch of RS(T) and ITU zone (W1 is in ITU Zone 8); work domestic and DX stns; use SSB, CW or both (mixed-mode)…have fun and make some QSOs!
Solar flux level remains quite high and sunspots have been up lately so give the bands a try. Additional contest info can be found here: http://www.arrl.org/iaru-hf-championship including an ITU zone map.
73 & good contesting… Bill W1WBB
Thanks for your support for this contest, Bill. Because it’s in the middle of summer many people have other stuff to do, but this is a fun one to enter if only for a few hours.
I should also mention that thanks to Jim, AD1C, the new .cty country files were updated yesterday, and can be found at http://www.country-files.com/cty/ *and* http://www.country-files.com/bigcty/
73,
Pat, NG1G
Thnx for that info Pat. I will make few Q’s in this one…The CME from the X-class solar flare is due Saturday AM and poor condx are anticipated and …my 10 yr old, John, has pitched his Little League team into the State Championship Tournament with games this weekend! Family now visiting too.
GL all and hope the bands are better than expected. 73, Bill W1WBB
I got a few hours in. Conditions weren’t so great on Sunday. First time for me in this contest in about 15 years!
