Hello everyone
I just wanted to see if I could get some discussion going on who is going to PR this Feb. I would like to have this put on the agenda for Nov meeting. I guess a couple question can be asked here:
Has anyone been in contact with Carlo’s?
Is there a list of things that certain people are bringing or think we should bring?
Who is committed on going? (a minimum of 4 people are needed) I will be going and I have a friend that will be joining the club at the next meeting and he would love to go. He’s really new to Ham Radio and wants to learn.
For those of you that are committed on going, you should continue to do research on flights. The best way to do this is to find the cheapest flight, and appoint someone to book everyone at the same time. This will make sure Carlo’s only makes one trip to the airport.

Have you read the CQWW WPX forum? Pat and Ed have posted lots of stuff there, especially things to bring/take. This may help answer some of your questions. My personal opinion is that 4 people would be a minimum for a partial effort. I would like to see eight trained operators, who have invested the time to learn how to operate the equipment that we are planning on taking.
The intensity should start to pick up as time gets shorter. I am certain there will be more lively discussions at the meetings and here on the web site.

I agree the 4 would be the very minimum that we need. I’d really like to see 6 to 8 to make it a real good operation. I will take a look at what Ed and Pat put together. I remember back a few months ago them working on that. I have looked around at airfairs and they are up from a couple of months ago so I think we need to work on this asap. I will be at the next meeting and look forward to talking about this operation.

I plan on making the trip. We discussed that a couple should make the trip earlier to get any needs identified so that any items that we missed can be brought down by later arrivers.
I haven’t made any contact with Carlos in a long time. Bill would you like to let him know that we are still making plans?
