Chris was a great guy who just recently helped me out with my antenna, driving all the way from his QTH to mine to give me a needed component. That was the type of ham he was. I’ll really miss him as will we all. I extend my deepest condolences to his family.

I am sorry that I can not get to the memorial service at 1:30 PM on Thursday but I have a conflicting doctor’s appointment. I hope that some from the club will be able to attend.

Shocked and saddened that Chris is no longer with us. I fully agree with the comments of Jim -KS1J- about Chris. He was a fun, easy-going, helpful guy who was a valued member of the CTRI CG. I always enjoyed chatting with Chris at club meetings, antenna-raising parties as well as on-air during contests — where stations needing our RI multiplier patiently waited as we ‘chewed the rag’ a bit!
Chris planned and completed his excellent tower/antenna project recently and I particularly enjoyed our discussions on this topic shortly after the completion of my own tower and beam installation.

It was always enjoyable chatting and working with Chris. He will always be remembered.

Amongst the Rhode Island ham radio community, I think I had the pleasure of knowing Chris the longest. I don’t remember exactly how we met…probably on the air. He was not far away…so we were incredibly loud at each other’s stations. I got Chris active in the Charlestown ARES group and subsequently in CTRI. Twice Chris came over here with his potato-gun launcher for the top loading wire for my 160 vertical to a far tree that I could not reach with my bow-n-arrow. We helped him out a couple of times with wires at his house. Unfortunately, I missed helping with his new tower….which I think he took great pride in. He even passed out literature for my ill-fated political campaign. I just came back from the memorial service in Willimantic. It was very nice. He had many friends and relatives…75+ were in attendance. The Congregational minister spoke eloquently…touching on some of the varied interests of Chris…including his passion for ham radio. I met his mother … and his brother whom, I had met once before. He even remembered my callsign. So ham radio was very much in evidence. There were some pictures of Chris displayed including one of him working on his tower. His key and mike are now silent. Rest well, dear friend in God’s presence.

I will remember Chris as a True Gentlemen Contester, and CTRI CG’er. It seemed he was always there, and contributing. His quiet personality never masked his passion for Amateur Radio. We have lost a great companion.
Best 73, my dear friend.
