My best score yet in a VHF contest. Having 1296 helped a bit!
So-so conditions, and only a very brief opening on 6M to W4 land kept me from a much higher score. Powerline noise from several directions was also frustrating on 2 and 6. I did enjoy working 10 grids with my 10W on 1296. CTRI stations worked were W1WBB, KA1CQR, K1DM and KA1VMG.

  2. Here's my report for this contest. I operated only on 6-meters. CTRI contacts, only W1AN. I heard Florida, but did not work him. I only made time for 0.6 hours of operation.

    12 QSO's 8 Grids, 96 points.

    K1DM

  3. Only 6 meters here as well. CW only. Also only about 0.6 hours. Worked W1WBB.

    Comments:

Found out this summer my doublet easily tuned on 50 MHz. With good gain in lots of directions and located over 2 wavelengths above ground it works quite well on the 6m band for local and DX QSOs.

First ever VHF contest entry fm here … only 6m capable. In/out of shack alot
both days — quick checks for band openings, new stations and general 6m
propagation. Worked total of 32 SSB and 28 CW contacts.

Enjoyed Es opening to Fla late Saturday afternoon…logged 9 Fla stns in 6
grids from 2040Z-2125Z. Only DX opening heard from here in RI all weekend.
Best regional DX was briefly hearing/working VE2 on Sunday in FN45 on CW.

Disappointed no enhanced VHF band conditions with associated significant geomagnetic storm and multiple CMEs striking earth Friday eve. K-index hit 7 briefly then. Sparse 6m activity but still had fun.

Icom IC-706 MKIIG @ ~75w into 88′ wire doublet at up over 40′. Fed almost
exclusively with low-loss window line via MFJ-929 tuner.

All QSOs to LoTW. Thanks for the contacts! Good to work the CTRI vhf’ers in this one. Nice score from W1AN … you were loud here John when apparently pointing beam east.
