CTRI Field Day: Last Minute Notes
By John Lindholm, W1XX
Field Day Site: 47 Peeptoad Rd., North Scituate, RI, home of the Seagrave Memorial Observatory
Field Day, June 27 – 28 is this coming weekend. CTRI’s W1DX will be in the 2 transmitter class plus 6 meter VHF. Details were ironed out at the CTRI meeting last weekend. Having a fun weekend of operating with our fellow club members is the goal. A team effort is needed. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with members who have been less active of late. Visitors are very much welcome. There will be ample help available to become familiar with the radios and logging program.
An advance crew will be on site starting at 10 AM Friday (June 26) to shoot lines over trees for antennas installed on Saturday. You are welcome then as well as any time during Field Day. Start time for setup on Saturday is 9AM. Many hands will be needed to install the 40/20/15 wire antenna array. Suggestion: wear long pants, work boots, and bring insect repellent.
If you would like to participate in the raffle for best guess on number of QSOs, bring along a fin ($5).
If we have not already heard of your intentions to participate, it would be helpful to the Commissary Captain to drop me an e-mail: w1xx [at]cox [dot] net. The CTRI Grill Team has planned an appetizing menu.
Don’t miss out on the fun. See you on Field Day! 73!

HELLO! This is the Commissary CAPTAIN!
NEW FLASH: CDR Pat suggested setting up a slow cooker with pulled pork, buns & chips for go-to break food. This might even turn into Sunday Lunch. Please let me know if people are interested.
FIELD DAY!!

Duh, well yeah….
But, only if it works for you, Herr CAPTAIN.
Sounds like a tasty idea! Mike, K1DM
My Grand Daughter (Molly) is most excited about FD and called me today about it. She will be on site around noon time tomorrow either as a junior op or to watch us all!

Fellow CTRI’ers & Friends: Friday “line shooting” was successful…nylon string hi up in the trees now awaiting installation of antennas. Much equipment already at the site. 6 and 10 meter antennas ready for going up on short masts. The operating building is really FB. Capt. Cook arrived with grill and stuff ready to open up the kitchen. All hands on deck needed to get things going at 9 AM. Probably bring some rain gear. Visitors most welcome. Go CTRI! — John, W1XX
