  1. Got on for a few hours. Nothing heard on 10. 15 was the main stay. I just skipped passed 20 and went to 40 for the bulk of my Q’s. Heard James K1SD and Ken K3IU and that was it.

  2. I also put a few hours in the chair. All S&P.15 was the best band. I worked K1SD, heard W1AN and KS1J. Wasted 3-4 hours watching the Pats game on Sunday. Ah, well…

I should have spent more time in the chair (BIC factor was only 70.8%). But the contest stayed in the fun category rather than gravitating to the “work” phase. Had several good runs; especially 15, 20, 40. Although the SFI was in the dumps, nicely surprised that 10 opened a bit on Sunday afternoon, albeit almost all skip towards the west coast.

Even though I had the high tri-bander on Europe for much of the test, I never did get overwhelmed with any EUs. Had a good fun of JAs on 20 on Sunday evening. It seemed that this was a mostly domestic Sweepstakes type contest.

Worked Ken K3IU early Saturday for the coveted RI mult. Saw Jim KS1J on Sunday AM and finally worked on Sunday evening just before the end. Saw John W1AN several times during the weekend but couldn’t connect; I’m sure he had his beam pointed west and he obviously has a much better F/B than I do.

    Comments:

Casual operation. Mike stayed glued to the chair a good part of Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday morning. I provided support, watched the Patriots lose and ran a couple of hours Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A good run of JAs on 20M Sunday. Not the greatest of conditions but good activity. Didn’t bother checking 10M.
