CQ DX SSB Multi Effort:  October 28 -30

John, W1AN, has often graciously opened up his station for a multi-2 effort with a simple:  “The station will be open.”  A few times the response has been great, but more often there has been a lack of operators to keep the two seats filled for the majority of time.

In talking to John recently, I suggested that I try to spearhead a concerted effort to give the upcoming CQWW SSB DX Contest a real go… dates the last weekend of October.  Normally I would do a single band effort from home in this one on either 80 or 40 meters.  But if we can get enough ops together for this one, I would like to sign up.  Will you join me?

This is an SSB working DX Test.  We need experienced ops as well as those who wish to improve their operating skills. Come one, come all.

John has overnight accommodations if you choose. And it would not surprise me if W1NAN does her usual in the culinary department.

Please let me know your intentions in a general time frame covering:  Friday evening and wee hours, Saturday daytime and wee hours, and Sunday daytime to close.   E-mail me at w1xx AT cox DOT net; copy to w1an AT dxusa DOT net.

CTRI always has a good time when we get together for a group effort.  Let’s go for a big score!  73! – John, W1XX                                                                      10/17/2016

A little sloooooow at times. Much S&P the entire weekend. Good short runs on 20M and some on 15M. Ten meters was also a surprise since predictions were not good the few days prior to the start. Only 7 JAs worked the whole weekend. A good time was had by all. Good fellowship. Great to have all the ops. Would be better if we had better SFI, K and A companions.

  2. I’ll echo what John said AND add a BIG thank you to Nancy for feeding us so well! James
