Genesis SDR twith homebrew sspa brick, maybe 60w, except 10w on 80m Doublet at 50 ft.
Picking up the mic got me only comments on the bad audio. Will figure that out another day. But lots of running fun. Probably the best rates I ever had in any contest. A good contribution from dxcc mults also. I did remember to get on 80 at the end and besides NY and NJ, OM2VL called in to my 10w cq. AB1BX, AI1TT, NC1CC in log at least — Dave K1SX
The wind from the storm the other day took down my wires but I got a 40M dipole off the ground for this weekend. So with the tribander and low wire I got on 40 and 20 for about 2.8 hours total. Here are the results of my efforts…

I found signals on 20M weak so stayed on forty until near the end to see what New
England Stations on 80M I could add to the log. Rates on 40M were pretty good
with many west coast stations active in daylight hours. Maxed at 140/Hr for 60 minutes. An enjoyable few hour break from other chores.

Had a good time in this running of the ‘STAYHOME’ version of the NEQP! Lots of activity and good rates in Run mode for the “Aquidneck Island Transmitting Team” c/s. Best by far was an hour and 15 mins straight at 140 Qs/hr on 40m SSB Sat eve … the callers just kept coming. Most QSOs ever in total for me in an NEQP.
My strategy was to run mostly on Saturday but also to ensure I worked the many 7-land QP stations for Q’s and mults, who likely would not be around on Sunday. I didn’t seek out DX ’til Sunday as I concentrated on running domestically on Day 1 … perhaps a tactical error (since 20m on Sunday to EU seemed poorer), but I’m NOT a fan of focusing on DX in a U.S. QSO party — I prefer QP rules that reward domestic Qs/mults, allowing for a *single* DX mult (or a small limit, like ten) and then be done with it! Was called by a JH1 at 2200Z Sunday while I was CQing on 20m so that was a surprise, but I had lots of unanswered calls when beam was aimed at Eu a few other times.
Not sure why more W1’s don’t utilize 75/80m a little earlier each evening to work each other — there were a ton of us around to be available low band Q’s but few folks went there until the very last hour when it was a feeding frenzy, but just too many stations/too little time (at least on CW). I suggest we all move there a bit sooner in future years.
Congrats to John W1XX on his huge QRP score (significantly improving on his previous New Engl record) — somehow, we missed working! Great efforts from Andy AB1BX (CW) and NG1Mike (SSB) too! Worked them along with K1PAD, K1SX, W1AN, NC1CC, and K3IU/1. In W/VE I missed only AK, HI, ND and SD as well as a few VE mults (VE6,VE9, VO1, VY2, and NT).
Appears my 11 year-old low OCF dipole balun became compromised as it won’t handle much power without SWR shooting way up — Spring time antenna work! Hope you CTRI CGers had fun during NEQP 2020.
