On Tuesday afternoon the availability of N1MM Logger v12.05.03 was announced with “Important bug-fix for multi ops in WPX CW” in the Subj Line.
Pete Smith, N4ZR, adds the following…
“This version incorporates a bug fix to prevent a database (“3022″) error
when editing the first QSO on a computer that is in a networked-computer
configuration. This could be disconcerting if it happened at the start
of this weekend’s WPX CW. We’re sending e-mail to all the multi-op and
networked-computer single-op users we are aware of, but will probably
miss some, so be advised.
Otherwise, this release involves only minor bug-fixes, which should be
unobtrusive.

It can happen if you edit or quick edit any QSO – the error will appear on EVERY
other computer in the network.

If you are planning on using N1MM Logger for 2012 WPX CW, it is very important
that you use version 12.05.03, which can be downloaded from the N1MM Logger web
site (www.n1mm.com).
A serious problem was recently found that causes error message 3022 to be
displayed on all networked computers if a QSO is edited with the “Quick Edit” or
“Edit QSO” feature. This is fixed in version 12.05.03.
In addition, a new feature was recently added that removes all QSO’s from a log.
This is very useful for removing QSO’s that were made as “practice” before the
start of a contest.
– Added WIPELOG text command and confirmation window. Entering “WIPELOG” in the
Entry Window callsign field will remove all QSO’s from the currently active log
on the local computer. To clear all QSO’s on all computers in a
networked-computer configuration, type WIPELOG on each computer.
Please forward this message to others who may be using N1MM Logger in a multi-op
(networked-computer) configuration in WPX CW.

Thanks for catching this! It sounds like it’s important!
While I will not be operating this weekend (except maybe Sunday afternoon) I’d like to pass along an interesting N1MM tidbit that I found during the NEQP recently. I created a new data base on a USB thumb drive. Then I operated a while @ W1CGA using the tri-bander and TS-2000. When I went home, I took the thumb drive, inserted it into my Shack computer at home, and operated on 40 from home (both sessions as W1A on phone.)
There was no problems, the only thing I had to do was open the database pointing to the thumb drive. I thought this might be a useful thing to know for future events. I don’t know how it will work if the computer USB port is version 1. Both computers I used had USB 2. We should try this on the RTTY Misers.
73 Mike, K1DM – for what it’s worth, we traveled in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virgina today. Tomorrow we’ll finish VA and travel into NC for wedding #1 on Thursday. On Friday we have to get from Charlotte, NC to Nyack, NY for the second wedding on Saturday, then we’ll head home Saturday afternoon/evening.
