I’m beginning to wonder if maybe I’m the first guy to receive my paper copy of July’s CQ magazine (although Rick, KI1G already had his electronic version – makes me think I should add that to my subscription). Here are the results – I’m sorry if I miss any call signs:

SOAB LP – KS1J with 101,904, #13 in the #1 call area
QRP AB – KO1H with 2,448, #1 in the #1 call area
M2 – NG1G (@W1AN) with 6,963,268, #1 NA and #8 world
Club – CTRI finished #6 in the US out of 41 clubs (and 20th in the world out of 93 total), and with only 9 entries we had a total of 10,854,589 points. The top 5 US clubs had between 15 and 47 entrants, so I’d say we did pretty darned well! We were right below the “biggies” – PVRC, NCCC, YCCC, SMC, and FRC.

I just realized the numbers don’t add up. According to the club listing we had 9 entries but I can only account for 7. I’ll keep looking…

Do you suppose they include all of the operators at NG1G in arriving at the “9” club entries??
I wouldn’t think so – that would give us 11 “entries” (4 other calls besides mine).
Maybe we have some “ghost” members who send in their scores incognito.

I “found” one of the “missing” entries. Will, K6ND, used KN6DV/1 as a SOSB HP (21 mHz) entry, taking #1 in the #1 call area in that category and in the Tribander/Single Element category. Thanks for the clarification, Will!

Well done to the NG1G RTTY gang @ W1AN…with nice photos of club mbrs ‘in action’ in the CQ magazine article. Good showing from CTRI CG all around. I assume the next big RTTY contest workup (in preps for CQ WPX 2013) will be CQWW DX RTTY at the end of September. GL all RTTY-meisters… 73, Bill W1WBB
There’s another RTTY opportunity Jul 21-22 in the NAQP RTTY. It coincides with the CQ WW VHF contest. They both start at the same time but the NAQP finishes 15 hours earlier (it’s a 12-hour contest). The RTTY contest gets a lot of stateside and VE stations (as you can imagine), and it’s kind of laid back. The exchange is just your name (or a made-up one) and state.
This coming weekend is the IARU HF World Championship, which is one of my faves. It’s SSB AND CW, only 24 hours, 160M-10M, and gets lots of DX activity. The exchange is just RS(T) and ITU zone, so when conditions are good, this contest is a barn-burner!
