  1. Couldn’t commit much time to this one so went DXing using the spotting network. Band condx were excellent Friday night with strong Eu sigs but I missed alot of the opening…still had 25 non-North America 10-pt QSOs w/ Eu & some South Americans in the log after a couple of hours! Condx not as good Saturday but ended with 40 10-pt Q’s overall.

Friday eve’s great band condx may have approached the record-breaking event of 2009!! You just never quite know on Topband… Was called by 3 Eu stns Sat eve (G, DL & EA) while I CQ’d up higher in band – nice.

    Just a few of the usual CTRI 160m gang were worked – W1XX & W1AN. Two new LoTW 160m DXCC confirmations already – HK1R and GI4DOH! 73 Bill W1WBB

    Comments:

**Low Power Assisted effort** No category officially exists for SO*LP*(A) in
    this event…that should change!

Very part-time effort. Only able to get on near 0600Z Friday night so missed
alot of the GREAT opening to Eu. Other family events had me away from radio
Saturday night until 0445Z so much was again missed. Condx here to Eu on
Saturday were not nearly as good as first night. Missed S/R both days…slept
in. Three hours op-time each night plus two hrs at contest end.

Alot of S&P QSOs for DX… 40 10-point QSOs made — much better than in 2012.
Nice to see multiple strong sigs from SA — HK, HC, CE & of course PJ2. Less
focus on domestic mults due to limited op-time.

‘Murphy’ caused significant intermittent problems with my computer-generated CW
keying seriously affecting my ability to call CQ and run…still to be resolved.

    Comments:

I enjoyed the quiet band conditions. Zero static crashes made for easy copy.
Fewer 10 pointers and 10 less DXCC countries compared to the 2010 year. This was
probably due to running unassisted this year and doing less S&P, but total
score ended 30K higher. I'm hoping for the same quiet conditions for the SSB
    test.
