Aw, what the hey, I wasn’t going to play in this one but I guess I can spend a little time. Count me in too. We need two more for a full team – anyone else want to dive in? You don’t have to operate the entire 10 hours allowed for single ops.
This is a great way to familiarize yourself with or practice RTTY contesting, especially with ESM mode if you use N1MM Logger. There’s enough time left that folks can share their macro files so they can see how others are doing theirs. It’s all about getting it as short as possible.
There is a 30-minute practice session on Friday at 10 pm local time. It uses the NAPQ exchange, rules, bands, etc, but no logging or reporting. Just get on the air and operate contest-style to test your station.

Excellent, Dave. Now we just need one more!
We have in the past used CTRI RTTY RYders as a team name (though the NCJ always capitalizes it incorrectly as “Ryders”) but RTTY Masters seems appropriate. In this contest we’re up against some stiff competition so a confident name can’t hurt.

I plan to do as well as I can while trying to add some sophistication to what I am doing – I.e. some tweaked macros, stacking, etc…
Good luck CTRI ‘RTTY Masters’! Heads up to team members…only Single Ops *without assistance* will have their scores included with the team. Anyone operating ‘assisted’ gets reclassified as Multi-op and that score is NOT included with the team. Also, 5 members maximum per team. Have fun… Bill W1WBB

Not a stellar score – clearly some more things I have to figure out but I know what more of those are now!
Really tough getting any runs going until I got onto 80 meters of all the bands.
A couple little runs on 20 and 40 but by far my biggest was on 80.
Had a meeting so got a 1 hour late start so 10 was done by the time I got on.
I spent too much time trying to get my 5 mults and seeing if anyone would come
back to me.
Other than 80 I’d get a run started and then nothing – would much preferred to
sit on my frequency and run but had to resort to tuning the band looking for
mults/qsos.
Conditions in general seemed ok, 40 and 80 weren’t too noisy, just my inability
to get runs going.

I did have N1MM crash on me many times last night – had uploaded the latest and greatest version – as we all know, recipe for disaster! I lost one mult and 2 Qs (queued up – worked the mult but didn’t have it logged yet) plus time and sometimes my run frequency (although with my issues getting runs going, not necessarily a bad thing)
To all:
Split my time with this contest and the CQWW 160 SSB.
It felt like the activity level was a little down.

Just noticed how little I got on 15M even though I kept going back and visiting it – trying runs and then tuning through the band for mults – at least half of the contacts were mults which meant I spent a lot of time tuning…
I should have gone there directly instead of going up to 10M at the start – probably missed the peak of activity there, it was Dave’s second best band. Very different distribution than last Summer where 15/40 were equal, 20 best and little on 10 and 80 – this time 20/40=80 were the main bands. 40 with a beam and 80 with an inverted V were basically equal!
