I don’t know the background, but am wondering… What is the history of WA1RR. I am pretty sure that it was around before I joined the club, but guess I was never curious enough to ask about it. It is not a particularly good WPX call sign.
As far as I can recall there is nothing at all special about the call sign.
I think it was just the next sequentially-assigned call sign that was available.
It is a terrible WPX call sign and a terrible contesting call sign all around. I am looking forward to changing it.
