The bands were MUCH better than expected, especially 10. There was supposed to be a disturbance in the force, but thank goodness it didn’t happen. Although conditions weren’t too great Saturday night. The effort was 100% S&P; didn’t even try to cram into the crowd and get a run going. Ran across locals KS1J, KA1VMG, NB1U, and W1CTN (who had an awesome score going to YCCC).

Spent some time during the week sorting out electric fence wiring problems nearby. Getting pretty good with the horse population. They keep close watch on me while I do my good work. I must have respliced a hundred sloppy connections. Also fixed the two beverages. Removed some fallen branches and reconnected broken wires. Now I can hear the line noise much better.
Quite the surprise with conditions on 10M. And very good conditions for most of the weekend, at least for the time we were listening. There was a short drop out of signals for a couple of hours Sunday. Or someone may have turned off the sunspots for a bit.
This would definitely have been a good phone contest weekend for an “all out” effort. I expect to see some very good scores. The upper bands 15 and 10 kept on giving while signals on 20 thru 80 were decent. There was not the greatest propagation on 160, but an occasional Carribean was worked. Little time spent there.
Mike, KB1RFJ is getting better. He worked near a 100 Qs here Saturday. If he really works hard we may graduate him from the rookie class soon. I did not hear much club activity but came across KA1VMG and W1CTN several times.

Comments: These comments posted via an alternate route. Hey, how do US stations get away with
calling CQ below 7128? Example: N0NI on 7127 for long period of time….plus other US stations
calling DX stations calling CQ right on 7125. Scumbags! [NR5M is also!] I missed some mults cuz I would not do so. Oh well. Operating split (me above 7200) is a must in this contest. One stations in EU told me I was the loudest thing stateside…yet try to find a reasonably clear frequency between 7128 – 7200 during peak times. Did find I could sometimes get in there around 3 in the morning or so. But, FUN contest…and I had the day to myself. 73! — John, W1XX
