Had fun in spite of slow conditions. Some 6M sporadic bursts but nothing
endured. Surprised by an S9 EA8DBM 20 minutes before end.
    Worked KA1CQR, W1XX, K3IU, W1WBB, K1DM.

    Comments:

No E-skip made for tough sledding. Meteor bursts to EM/EN produced a few QSOs but not sustained E-skip. EA8DBM was a surprise at the end of the contest. Had to retune the 6-meter amp from time to time as the grid current would shoot up and SWR increase a lot. Not sure what the problem is. Will run some tests. I find it a bit annoying that on the every day 2 meter morning group I can work 8s and 4s and VEs with 175 watts fairly consistently, but the same stations are no-shows during the contest. Go figure. I’m afraid this contest will have to liberalize it’s rules to the new ARRL standard of “anything goes.” Worked the same CTRI’ers as John + KA1VMG. 73! — John, W1XX

I worked K3IU, W1XX, W1AN. Didn’t get much time in the chair. Conditions were less than I had hoped.
