2nd Thursday Test

OK… I have disabled my other user ID (it MAY have been perfectly correct in what it was causing to be displayed, but it was confusing the heck out of me!) and the Subscriber2 notifications for now in order to reduce the noise level during this testing.

I am posting this to the email address assigned to K3IU by WordPress.com. I expect to receive an email from the web site. I will then Reply to that email and hopefully create a comment to the original posting. Then I will look for an email notification from the web site about that comment.

  1. This is being added directly on the website because I did NOT receive an email notification about my comment sent in by email.

Ah Ha… I just noticed that just beneath this text box is a check box after which says, “Participate in this conversation via email.” I don’t know what plug-in causes that statement to be there, but I will check that box and see what happens.

  2. This reply is being made on the web site and not by email.

I did receive an email response telling me that I had successfully subscribed and will receive an email when there is new comment this “2nd Thursday Test” thread. It also indicates that it was “Delivered by Postmatic.” I suspect that this duplicates the options I have checked off in my Profile but I haven’t tested yet to see if it will send me an email since I was the initiator of this thread. I just checked my profile and the option boxes under Postmatic are still checked.

  3. This comment is being added from my other account (k4jhg).

I did NOT receive an email after posting the previous comment from my main (k3iu) account. This is a check to see if I will get an email notice when a comment is added by a user other then the originator.

  4. I DID receive an email notification from “K4JHG” with the most recent comment. I am replying to that email with this email reply.

  5. OK… I have satisfied myself that comments made by the originator of a thread will NOT result in an email to the originator. A comment made by a user other than the originator will result in an email being sent to the originator. I am adding this comment directly on the web site.

I don’t think any more testing is indicated…
