  1. Hi John:
I can’t spend the whole weekend there but I am planning to arrive early Sat morning and do whatever I can through the rest of the day, leaving about 5PM-ish.

NG1Mike-Mike and K1DeltaMike-Mike were kept away for work and travel so it was up to K3IU Ken and I to manage the weekend effort. On Saturday the predawn noise of Ken ‘s car door woke me up to make the coffee. For dinner prime rib and creme brulee was enjoyed by all participants.

Conditions were fairly good. Zero activity on 10M. I did put in extra effort to catch more 6 pointer Saturday night after 1AM. This helped our score tremendously considering the limited hours in the chair.
Strange sporadic signal levels were puzzling on Saturday on 20M. Background noise was steady. Only signals were affected. Maybe antenna, but will be watched.

  4. To be clear, the big majority of the KE1S score is attributable to W1AN as I was only there for a few hours on Saturday. Great effort, John!

I operated from home for a couple of hours on Sunday with the following results.

  6. Got a good catch on 10 meters! Ran the FT-817 QRP into the Multi Band Dipole.
Had 72 Q’s. 15 Meters was moderate…. Need the filter for 20 Meters. Ran for only about 6 or 7 hours on and off…..

  7. Happy to see the member activity. But more is better! So far today, Tuesday 2/12, CTRI KE1S shows up as third in USA listing in 3830 contest scores report. I always wonder after each contest what we could achieve if we manage a full effort. We have done it in the past. Made records. Now need to do more in the future.

Where would another 400 Qs, 100 6 pointers and additional 200-300 prefixes place us? All doable. What would it have taken to beat K9CT? Anybody want to setup a spread sheet to play with the numbers?

Next weekend is the ARRL DX CW. An opportunity. Multi-Single anyone. Muti-2?

I put in a bit of time. It wasn’t quite as easy to get the q’s as it was in Sept. I tried to concentrate on the higher point values. KE1S and NC1CC were copied but scatter wasn’t making it on qrp. — Dave K1SX
