Operated in short spurts of time. Much S & P. Conditions were not so good. So much so that everyone gravitated to 20 so that it was often impossible to find a run frequency. 160 to EU was real good the first night. Found that I could often beat out a host of callers answering EU CQs. Didn’t lost much sleep and took in the URI men’s basketball upset of Dayton. 15 was only good to South America. Had fun!

First time in this contest! Thanks to all the stations who patiently picked me
out of the noise. Wish I had an antenna for 160m.
Managed to work KL7RA through the pile-up. Hope he got my call
right. I still need AK for LOTW Triple Play. Thanks to CTRI for all the help
with contesting. If this is what it’s like when propagation is lousy, I can’t
wait for the peak in the solar cycle.

  3. K1SX
    SO “Unlimited” LP
28-24 = 2016 in 2:15 according to N1MM, although it felt like longer.

This was with 60 watts or so on 40 but 10 watts on 20, and a wire. Also I was not able to get on in the morning for 20 to Eu. Overall I got on here and there over the weekend but it just seemed like the pileups never let up. I could sometimes break them with 60 watts CW last month, but not on SSB. I did catch KH6J on 40 at 10pm local which was kind of a surprise. So more projects– a 20m filter for the amp, and figure out how to run it on 24v instead of 13.8. But first, 6 meter season. Great job Charlie! I’m still on the SSB contest learning curve. Fwiw I agree conditions were really bad.
