An email from my Neighbor Mary – Take Back Your Power

Take Back Your Power is an independent Canadian documentary directed by Josh del Sol that was released in 2013.  The film explores the health, legal, and economic ramifications of wireless utility “smart” meters.  Most people do not know about the risks associated with the radiation emitting from wireless utility meters that are already installed on many of our homes.  Nor do they understand that utility companies are pushing for 100% wireless utility metering, even though people across the country are reporting that the radiation from these meters is making them sick.  If you or someone you love is suffering from health problems, please watch this movie.

This documentary features narration from the mayor of Peterborough, Ontario (Daryl Bennett), as well as American researcher De-Kun Li, U.S. journalist Blake Levitt, and Dr. Sam Milham.   The film won a Leo Award for best feature-length documentary, as well as the Annual Humanitarian Award from Indie Fest the following year.

Take Back Your Power can be viewed for FREE until midnight tonight.  Take this opportunity to educate yourself about how your health, safety, and privacy are being impacted by wireless utility meters and the radiation they emit, as well as the accompanying infrastructure.  I firmly believe this is the most important film you will ever watch.  Please make the time to watch it, and forward this link to everyone you know.  And please make a call or send an email to your state representative and state senator, asking for a ban on ALL wireless utility meters.  We have a right to protect our health, safety, and privacy in our own homes.

CQWWCW M-2 @ W1DX Some Stats

Here are a few statistics of the Multi-2 operation at W1DX this past weekend. There are many other possibilities of presentation of the information, however, some would exceed the reasonable accomodation standards of presentation on a web posting. The big gun operator for the whole effort sure looks like W1WBB who ground out almost 600 Qs on 40 and a total of just over 1100. Obviously, 40 meters was the real money maker band!

Updated Contest Calendar

Gentlemen,

Attached is the updated Contest Calendar. Note:

No January meeting or luncheon date or venue is yet identified.

For both the February 6 and March 12 meetings, I have reserved the NK Library small conference room on the lower level from 1000 to 1230. Be aware this conference room is limited to a maximum of 10 persons and there is NO food or drink allowed. Maybe we can set up a Net Meeting for the overflow crowd?

Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all.

Idiom Press

Many of us have done (frustrating) business with Idiom Press for, especially, their automated rotator control boards. Hopefully, this move will be a significant improvement.

Ordakowski has said he intends to have the new business in full operation by the first week of January 2016, although some previously placed orders may ship earlier.

Idiom Press published The Complete DXer by Bob Locher, W9KNI, who started the business before turning it over to his son Rob, W7GH, who is returning to the computer programming field.

W1DX Multi-2 CW for CQWW This Weekend

The station will be open for operations this weekend for a Multi-2. So far, K1DM, W1WBB, K3IU and W1XX have expressed interest. I will attempt to put a schedule together of preferred times so we can all get in some hours. I will take a backup, fill in, support position for times when we have the chairs full. You can email me directly at W1AN(at)dxusa.net

Hello Everyone!

Just thought I’d send out my new address change to some of my closest friends, co-workers and other people who might need or want the info. I don’t yet have a new phone number. That’s coming in about 2 weeks or so. My e-mail address will remain the same.

My permanent mailing address is changing as of the date of this e-mail to:

91 Reservoir Road Middletown RI 02842-5832.

I can be reached at work at 401-832-8562.

Feel free to write back if you’d like to. I try to check my e-mail at least once each day.

Keyboard F Key Template

Gentlemen,

At the last meeting I thanked John AN and Dr. Mike for the F Key Template that we used at Field Day. I’ve been using it ever since tailored to each contest I’ve operated. Ed suggested that I post it to the web site. Sorry it took so long (er, I forgot).

Here’s the template that I’ve set up for Sweepstakes SSB this weekend. It’s just a Word file and easily modified for your circumstances.

Good luck this weekend and hope to work many CT and RI members!

YCCC Sweepstakes Tips – a Gift from PVRC

Anyone planning to play in ARRL Sweepstakes this weekend may find this helpful or, at least, somewhat interesting.

73 James K1SD

=================== Original Message ================

YCCC does not usually put forth an all-out effort in the Sweepstakes contests, as the Northeast is typically geo-challenged in this domestic contest. So we let our friends to the west have at it, and we are happy to participate and have fun.

Other contest clubs take Sweepstakes much more seriously! I happened to be doing a bit of web ‘recon’ and came across a gem on the PVRC website, a strategic encouragement for their members to participate in Sweepstakes. It includes a lot of specific operating tips which may (or might not) be applicable to those of us joining the fray this weekend.

So I’ll share the link:

More Wallpaper Today for K3IU

Who wouda thunk that I would ever take First Place in a 160 meter contest?!? Well, I received in the mail today from the League a Certificate for First Place, Single Op Unlimited, High Power, Rhode Island Section in the ARRL 160 meter contest in 2014. My big antenna is the NVIS 80 meter dipole and tuner at the amp. My winning score was 9789.
