Gents,
I’ve an older B&K Oscilloscope Precision Model 1470. It was reported to work; I’ve never used it. It lights up, trace focuses, adjusts. Has the manual and probes.
Take it before the dumpster.

Gentlemen
I’m going to participate in the WRTC14 Station Test this weekend during the IARU Contest. I’ll be part of a Beam Team activating 2 stations at the Mansfield, MA, Airport site.
The Beam Team will assemble the antenna and 40′ of Rohn 25G tower, afix the antenna to the prone tower and erect and secure them. We’ll start Friday 7/12/2013 about 0900 and finish when the 2 stations are done. Sunday morning 7/14/2013, after the contest ends, we’ll do the reverse.
I’d love to have a couple of CTRI members join me. If interested, give me a call or drop me an email.

Publicity: Good? Bad? … I don’t know.
Apparently some neighbors have complained to the town and to the media about my tower and antenna installation. John and Ken were the first recipients of any direct comments from anyone that I received on my on-going project Thursday morning (6.6.2013). This was when I was on the tower at 70 feet and was wrestling with the antenna as it was being trammed up!
A reporter from the East Greenwich Patch News came by that afternoon to interview me. The attached link is to the article from the East Greenwich Patch web site that came out this morning.
http://eastgreenwich.patch.com/articles/67-ft-radio-antenna-upsets-neighbors#comments_list
Later this morning Mark Curtis from ABC Channel 6 News Providence came by to interview and video me and the tower/antenna. He came back later to interview neighbors. He also said he was going to speak to town officials.
What’s next? I haven’t a clue. Stay tuned for details at 11!

The Team of John W1AN, Bob KB1LN, James K1SD, Tony, and Ken K3IU gathered on June 6, 2013 to raise the Bencher Sky Hawk to its perch atop K1SD’s new 70 foot tower in East Greenwich, RI.
Many thanks to the CTRI Team for their efforts and to others in CTRI for equipment, hardware, advice, and guidance in completing the project.

Gentlemen,
The assembly of the Bencher Sky Hawk is nearing completion and should be ready to raise this week. I need the help of the CTRI Team to put it into place. All assistance will be greatly appreciated.
I’d like to do it Saturday, 1 June starting about 0900. The weather forecast is for sunny, clear skies; morning temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s; 0% chance of rain and SW winds near 16 mph.
Please let me know if you can help.

Although the team was ready, the weather didn’t cooperate for us to raise the section of tower as planned last Saturday.
The forecast looks good for this Saturday. If we could get a crew here for about an hour or so, the top section and permanent guys can be raised and rigged. And then I can look forward to finishing and raising the Bencher Skyhawk!
All help will be appreciated. Saturday, 18 May ~ 0900
I’ll have a pot of coffee ready.

Received this from CQ Magazine this morning. Look who made the cover of WorldRadio! Jose, KP4JRS. Operating NP3U during our own 2013 CQ WW WPX RTTY effort. Great shot and kudos to the CTRI op who submitted the pix!

Gentlemen,
I wanted to let the Group know that I have the CTRI Gin Pole as well as the bag of 1/2″ rope.
Pat NG1G came by Saturday to deliver them and got a quick look at the outdoor layout for the upgraded tower.

Comments:
I just wanted to get on all bands and run a little power, mostly to check out the station. I ran the K3 at 10-15 watts; the Titan was abt 500-700 w output. Previous high power efforts would light the house with RF: CO2 alarm blasting in the middle of the night is not fun. This time only the touch table lamps would cycle on and off; just un-screwed the bulb. Good openings into Asia. / 73 / K1SD /

This is a fun contest I just discovered a week before the contest. Simple rules: strictly a DX contest; you exchange grid square only; score based totally on distance between grid squares, worldwide. Good timing format: 8hrs on, 8hrs off, 8 on, 8 off and 8 on again. Good participation. Not many contests where a very casual operation yields over a million points!
Working (struggling) to integrate the Yaesu FT1KD with the RIGblaster pro, as well as with N1MM both SSB and Digital – esp. MMTTY.
Does anyone in this astute group have any experiece, tips, or other guidance?

I’m happy to report that K1SD is now storing Rohn 25G vertically. Its been horizontal for ~10 years. Put up a ~9′ foot section in concrete and a 10′ section the past weekend. The house bracket is next followed by another 10′ plus a pointy top section (~9′). Total height ~37′ topped with a CC A4S.
Progress !!
