I was going to wait until after SSCW this weekend, but I’ll update again after the Sweeps CW and SSB. If you don’t see your results here, that’s because they weren’t posted on our web site or listed under the club name on the 3830 reflector.

I know all of you have been waiting for this for a long time. So hang on… This is the first publication of the CTRI Champions Leaderboard for the 2015-2016 contest season. This posting contains reported information for the first two(2) contests in the Champions Series. Also, if there is anyone out there who would like to take over maintenance of the leaderboard, all you have to do is volunteer. The pay is lousy, but the rewards many.

At the last meeting there was a demonstration of how to use the new Post by Email capability on the web site. This is intended to provide a Listserve capability allowing members to post and receive postings by email. This capability is in addition to and not in place of the original method of adding posts and/or comments to the web site articles.

Attached is a pdf file that provides instructions on “How To” set up your WA1RR.org Profile so that you can join the crowd of users of this new capability. This procedure has been tested by several members, but if you have any questions, please ask for help.

The contest isn’t over yet, but I thought I would post this else I forget to do so. Please post your claimed score for inclusion in the CTRI Champions Competition. Also don’t forget to submit your score on time. This from the Rules…

1. All entries must be sent WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS after the end of the contest: no later than 2359 UTC October 2, 2015. Resubmitting an entry after the deadline will result in it being considered as a late log.

Posting with a different Category setting than the default (Listserve) to see if the default will be assigned as well.

I have changed one of the settings in Postmatic to see if it would send email to the originator when comments are added by the originator.

OK… I have disabled my other user ID (it MAY have been perfectly correct in what it was causing to be displayed, but it was confusing the heck out of me!) and the Subscriber2 notifications for now in order to reduce the noise level during this testing.

I am posting this to the email address assigned to K3IU by WordPress.com. I expect to receive an email from the web site. I will then Reply to that email and hopefully create a comment to the original posting. Then I will look for an email notification from the web site about that comment.

Pretty soon I will need to add another wall. In today’s mail there arrived a certificate for the CQWW 160 DX contest telling me that I won First Place Single Op Assisted High Power CW in Rhode Island, and 14th in the First Call area. A total of 117 Qs!

Some of you may notice that I am sending this by email to the newly installed LISTSREVE that several of us have been working on recently.

Last September in the ARRL VHF contest, I managed 9 QSOs, all CW, and 6 mults for a grand total of 54 points. I was SO HP 6M, Assisted. In today’s mail there was a large envelope from the ARRL that contained yet another certificate for First Place RI Section MultiOperator (because I was assisted).  Now I have got to figure out where to put this new award…

UNODIR I will update the leaderboard for the 2015-2016 season using the same contests as previously used. This list of contests was previously voted on and approved by the members in attendance. If anyone thinks this list should be updated, the next meeting would not be a bad time to bring it up. That would also be a good time to decide whether to continue with the handicapping scheme that was used for last seasons competition.

There appears to be a conflict next year in that the ARRL January VHF contest (Jan 30 – Feb 1) and the CQWW 160 CW contest (Jan 29-31) are on the same weekend. It is also possible that I have made an error in my research of the dates for next year’s contests. Also, I have not found a date for the CQWW VHF contest next July.
