Since I am the first one here with results, guess I’ll generate the posting to collect the results from club members. I was surprised when I saw my BIC time ‘cuz it didn’t seem as long as the logging program says. Anyway… here are my results. Only other club member worked was W1DX on 2 bands.
Please post your results here and don’t forget to submit your score before the deadline!

CQ Worldwide DX Contest, RTTY Call: K3IU Class: SOAB HP QTH: RI Operating Time (hrs): 12:00 Summary: Band QSOs State/Prov DX Zones ------------------------------------ 80: 24 18 4 5 40: 30 11 11 10 20: 128 13 44 14 15: 101 4 44 15 10: 10 1 5 4 ------------------------------------ Total: 293 47 108 48 Total Score = 151,844
To date this site has been activated 5 times for a recorded 254 QSOs. W1XX, K1DM, and W1AN are looking at activating the site on Thursday, 29 September. It looks like we will be on the air around 10:00 AM for several hours. We will probably finish before sunset. Since we will only have one antenna – a trapped vertical attached to the trailer hitch on my van – it will most likely be a FONE effort, which seems to be the most popular mode as far as I can determine.
If you have some free time that day, you are welcome to join in the fun. We’ll attempt to answer anyone who gives us a call (if we hear you). Club members are also welcome to join us on site and operate!
More to follow as the plans get set in concrete (or is it jello?)
Mike, K1DM
Sorry I couldn’t make it. Who attended? Besides elections was there anything else of import discussed?
I hope everyone is gearing up for CQWW RTTY this weekend.

Nancy and I will host a Multi-2 Operation for the CQ WW RTTY contest this weekend. This is a work everyone contest, USA and DX stations. So we will be very busy! The packet cluster will be set up by Lars KE1J for displaying the most accurate station data from the remote beacon network, greatly improving efficiency. Operators are needed. You can post your plans here or email directly to w1an @ dxusa.net. Overnighters welcome!

I have reserved a table for 12. Hopefully we can get that room in the back like last time.
Please let me know who will be attending so I can update the reservation if need be. See you there, Mike

In the event anyone in the club is in the market for a brand new in-th-box Elecraft K3S transceiver, this may interest you. I am in the process of settling an insurance claim re lightning damage that will require my sending $$$ to recover depreciation. I expect to order the new Elecraft K3S 100 watt radio that contesters prefer.I will then sell it at a significantly DISCOUNTED price. The list price I will pay off the internet will be in the neighborhood of $3800. When buying an Elecraft you select items a la carte off the menu — from microphone choice to filters. I have selected what will appeal to most…but can adapt to YOUR choices. Please forward this to anyone you think might be interested. I also intend to do the same with a brand new Kenwood TS-2000 from HRO. Contact: w1xx AT cox DOT net for details. TNX & 73!! — John, W1XX
Still waiting for LOTW certificate. I sent an inquiry to the League asking where it might be. I may have to do it over again.
Meanwhile I have received a request for a KE1S QSL Card for a QSO on May 28 at 0708 on 80 meters CW. Any idea who used the call then? We have had the call assigned since 2/2/16.
Next question – What do we do about QSL Cards? I suggest we order 100 or so for the time being. Not sure if we want to use the WA1RR design with a just a change in call to KE1S.
Thoughts?

Hello – have TOWER Thoughts.
Anyone familiar with Phillystran Guy Lines? Seems like it would be a lot easier to work with.

The results are in for the CQ WW VHF contest and are shown in the Leaderboard associated with the link below. This will be the final posting of the Leaderboard because at the meeting on the 23rd of July, the members present voted to suspend the CTRI Champions Competition for a year and during that time discuss whether it should be terminated, revised, and reinstated after the year suspension.
Don’t forget that we are using a handicapping system and show both the Raw Score as well as the handicapped score. To learn more about the handicapping, see this posting on the club website…

You may view or download the new leaderboard spreadsheet by clicking on the link below. It is a Microsoft Excel 97-2003 format spreadsheet.

James,
Thanks for posting this. May I suggest we add to the agenda the club contest competition: Do we want to continue it? Modify it? Also, Ken is looking for someone to take the responsibility of keeping the score sheet spread sheet should we elect to continue.
I will not be at tomorrow’s meeting. We are unveiling my wife’s grave stone at the cemetery tomorrow morning, and I have family and guests in from out of town. In addition, the woman who was closest to Linda was just this week diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer. Needless to say, I’ve been a bit distracted for the past couple weeks.
The club trustee change has been submitted to ARRL VEC, but we have not seen any results yet. I will personally check on its status this coming Thursday when I am at HQ for my volunteer work. There have been some recent issues at FCC with the licensing servers (or something like that) so that may be the issue. I’ll let everyone know once I find out.
Mike (RFJ) and John (AN) know what’s going on with the non-profit part of the incorporation.
James, I trust you are feeling much better, and that you’re on the road back to perfect health.
Ed, I haven’t yet made time to look into broadcasting the club meetings on the internet.
