Hey anyone going to the Yankee Steam-up. It’s scheduled for Oct 3 starting at 9:00 and going to 4:00. I may be going along with the junior op.

At the last meeting there was a demonstration of how to use the new Post by Email capability on the web site. This is intended to provide a Listserve capability allowing members to post and receive postings by email. This capability is in addition to and not in place of the original method of adding posts and/or comments to the web site articles.
Attached is a pdf file that provides instructions on “How To” set up your WA1RR.org Profile so that you can join the crowd of users of this new capability. This procedure has been tested by several members, but if you have any questions, please ask for help.
To download or view the pdf file, use the following link…

Not sure how to use the categories yet but thought I would try the listserve feature. I’ll post to the site later.
Like Ken I spent more time outside this great weekend than inside. Wanted to do better than last year and did. Conditions not bad for a declining cycle. Wkd K1SD, KI1G, W1DX

Proposed subject for discussion at the CTRI meeting of September 19.
During our trip to Boxboro, John W1AN discussed the possibility of a new CTRI call sign; one that would be more beneficial during a contest (WPX).

Club members;
As required by our bylaws, we are supposed to hold election of officers at our September meeting. To that end, I have held individual discussions/exchanged e-mails with several members of the club to put together a proposed slate of candidates for office for the coming year.
As always, we will accept nominations from the floor, and then vote for each office. Please consider this slate, and come prepared to vote.
Since we have a work-party scheduled at W1LW following the meeting, I would like us to stay focused on task at the meeting so we can “get to work” on the tower.
Proposed Slate: President – see below
Vice President – Pat, NG1G
Secretary – Ed, W1PN
Treasurer – Mike, KB1RFJ
Contest Manager – James, K1SD
I am willing to run for president if someone wants to nominate me. If elected, I intend to superintend some minor changes in how we function as an organization. It is my goal to give each member of the Executive Committee a task assignment that should keep that individual focused on a long-term goal for the club. Each task will be related to the position held, and the betterment of club activities.
Thanks for putting up with me this past year. For CTRI it’s been a good year, despite my enduring some personal challenges that have been somewhat distracting at times.
See you at the meeting, Mike, K1DM
This is a new function on the CTRI CG website. Its purpose is to provide a listserve capability to members who desire to use it. Listserve is the name for a category of communication techniques of which one is Yahoo Groups. In normal operation one begins a discussion thread by posting an initial message which is reflected to a list of subscribers (another name for a Listserve is Reflector).
When "Send" is pressed this message will be delivered to the Listserve inbox on wa1rr.org. Shortly thereafter it will be sent out to those members who have indicated they want to see Listserve messages.

I have changed one of the settings in Postmatic to see if it would send email to the originator when comments are added by the originator.
